I can’t understand why so many people are up-in-arms about gay marriage. What everyone should be worried about is celebrity marriage. So many celebrities are making a mockery of the sanctity of marriage.
Look at Britney Spears. (via Wikipedia)
On January 3, 2004, Spears married her childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander at The Little White Wedding Chapel on the Las Vegas Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada. Spears wore jeans and a baseball cap and the bellhop walked her down the aisle. An annulment was promptly arranged (at the behest of manager Larry Rudolph and her family) and was granted on January 5, ending their fifty-five hour marriage.
This is the crap that’s ruining marriage. Then she married Kevin Federline. I hope I don’t need to get into that.
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes (or TomKat) had a scientologist wedding. I’ll tell you what. I’m totally uncomfortable with scientologists marrying. I don’t even think they should be allowed to reproduce.
The point is, two people that want to spend their life together should be allowed to, even if they’re the same sex, especially when scary pseudo celebrity-combo’s (Bennifer) are left alone for the sake of the inevitable divorce news story to follow.

[…] I’m one of those ‘crazy liberals’ that has the absurd notion that being gay doesn’t make you evil. And gay people should possibly even have the same rights as straight people (See: The Real Threat to Marriage). I in no way support gay bashing, but this is a little bit ridiculous. This commercial was funny. The guys looked and acted ridiculous, and if nothing else, I think the commercial was making fun of silly homophobes rather than encouraging hatred and discontent towards homosexuality. […]

I personally believe the greatest threat to marriage is tension between the wife and the mother in law (grooms mother). As a man, and someone who has talked to a lot of his male friends I have been amazed by the natural contention that occurs between the mother-in-law and the daughter-in-law. It almost has become a joke between my friends. One thing we have commented about more than once is the fact that the conflict always seems to be between the bride and the groom’s mother. Never the groom and the mother-in-law. The crazy thing is that if you watch sitcoms they always portray the issue as between the groom and mother-in-law, where in reality it is very seldom the problem.

People who are homosexual have the right to marry, as do we all. As long as two people care deeply for each other and will care for each other in a healthy manner, they should be supported in the idea of getting married.

Yes celebrities aren’t doing marriages any favorts. Particularly because the media parades them in front of us all the time and we see these perfect bodies and fake smiles. We see plastic surgery. But then we see them leaving each other without trying to save their relationship. The examples in front of us are the bad ones it seems.
