I’d like to draw your attention to this article. Actor Lane Garrison of Prison Break fame (or infamy) killed a teenager and injured two others while driving them around drunk. He had a BAC of .015. That’s well above the legal limit. Now, what gets me is that the article says that they “want” to charge him with manslaughter and drunk driving, but they haven’t determined yet if they’re going to.
What is the question here?
They might let him off because he’s a celebrity, and Fox might suffer a bit in the ratings because his character is gone (I doubt it)? He was driving drunk which is heinous enough, but he killed a child because of it. He should go to prison for a long time, and I’d like to see him try to break out of that one (you saw it coming). Why does being a celebrity warrant one a less strict set of laws? As far as I’m concerned, juries shouldn’t even know the name of the defendant during a case. This special treatment is crap.
Another thing about the article that pissed me off is at the end they mention Brandy’s bout with awful driving earlier this week. She caused a chain reaction accident that ended up killing someone, and the California Highway Patrol has recommended she be charged with “misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter”. Since when has their been a misdemeanor charge for manslaughter? Either she was doing something really stupid, and she is at fault for the death of another human being, in which case she should go to jail, or it was not her fault, or a very small mistake, and she doesn’t (There has to be some leniency. We all make mistakes. Yes, even me.)
So my point is, that fifteen minutes that Mr. Warhol promised me, I plan on taking advantage, and I suggest everyone else does as well, so when we inevitably make a huge mistake that destroys a life, we’ll get a free pass because our pretty faces will be missed on television.

I liked the article. I guess you’re right. As far as I can see, if you’re a celeb you don’t have to worry about anything, whatever you do, even if you kill someone… There’s so much bullshit out there…
Best regards!

I agree with the article you wrote…To many lives pass and nobody will even remember them.

Completely agree with you, I think that judges could be intimidated by celebrities, they still see them as stars maybe, as idols I personally think that they feel that they could betray people if they put a stronger condemn. But what I don’t really think is that Fox could be involved in this case. In my opinion.

I agree with you. I think that’s the way life goes to all Hollywood celebs.
And i don’t think that fox is involved.

Troublesome celebrity! Yeah, agreed. We should all be celebrities. Unfair treatment is never good for anybody.

I can totally agree with this article. Celebs always get breaks. When they do something any normal citizen would do, they get away with. The power and money a celeb has really changes things. Michael Jackson a perfect example. Any normal citizen laying in bed with young boys would get 100 yeras in prison. Michael was let free.

If I had the chance to be a celeb I would, and bag as many freebies as I could.

celebs are straight media whores. There’s a huge market for them. They’re pointless and do nothing to society. Thats just my opinion.

I recently bought a new pc and I decided to try my luck with some cool websites. Apparently, this site improved my mood a lot more, so great job.

Celebrities getting a free pass through the judicial / justice system has probably as much or more to do with them being rich and being able to buy their freedom, as it does with them just being “famous.” Nowadays, it’s like “show me the money.”

I agree with Mundane Blogger… Besides, just think about how much money the people within the ‘entertainment’ & ’sports’ category really make when compared to jobs that require intelligence or hard labor. Hell, no wonder my myths, legends, & folklore blog gets a lot of hits… If people ain’t worried about celebrity baloney or media hype, they are searching for more fictitious hogwash to entertain them… Ha-ha!
P.S. This random blog of yours is somewhat interesting, and some of the comments are amusing, in their own weird sort of way…
Cheers!
