If you haven’t done anything with SEO yet, take a look at these links and start with the basics. Changing your permalink structure is incredibly simple and one of the easiest ways to have Google better index your pages.
PostScript: If anyone knows of any good SEO books that won’t cost me my first born, let me know. They all seem absurdly overpriced to me.

Yeah, some people need more SEO tips than others, but more times than not, most of the time the on-page SEO is what is more important for a person that has limited links pointing towards their websites, blogs, whatever. Just be on the lookout for those supposed “SEO Gurus” who claim to know all the answers, as many of those clowns often end up being amateur bloggers and dumb dolts with a big mouth and very little online income…

SEO knowledge gives you incredible help in developing your website. Of course its always better to ask for professional help in order to promote a website, but i think you should know at least SEO basics to run your site successfully!
